Thanks for looking in at this new blog. I hope you will find it interesting and something that you will enjoy reading regularly.

A hobby is defined as any pastime, not related to your profession, that you regularly engage in for pleasure; well that’s a little too broad for the purposes of this blog. For me the word hobby evokes many memories of trains, plastic models, flying rockets, planes, and cars, but the common theme through all of those memories is miniatures. Think about it, from our earliest childhood, and for many of us, through advanced age what do we play with the most? It is often miniatures.

We give children miniature toy trucks and miniature doll houses to play with, in school we build miniature dioramas and view models in museums, and as we get older we build scale models and operate miniature vehicles. Many have spent a lifetime engaged in model building, flying model airplanes, driving model cars, and operating miniature railroads. We are fascinated with miniatures at all ages.

Follow me on this blog as I write about local clubs and individuals engaged in hobbies of creating, collecting, and playing with miniatures.
